Job summary

The Barnes Foundation is seeking a Guest and Protection Services Senior Specialist to provide front-line security and access control while delivering exceptional guest experiences. You will monitor buildings and grounds, engage visitors with the collection, and coordinate concierge services along with VIP and emergency response duties.

This role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of security, guest services, hospitality, or event management experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Pleasant demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong observational and reasoning skills.
• Ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure.
• Proficiency with patrol scanning devices, access control systems, ticket scanners, tour devices, and Barnes App.
• Art knowledge or interest a plus.
• English communication; bilingual a plus.
• Highly organized.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the building and grounds are welcoming and safe for visitors.
• Oversee safety of the collection by enforcing foundation rules and protecting property and grounds.
• Monitor with video and access control systems; manage entry/exit points.
• Provide concierge-level information to guests and staff on policies.
• Engage guests with the foundation’s history and programs; coordinate tours and visitation collateral.
• Manage VIP experiences to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
• Handle challenging situations quickly and professionally.
• Conduct bag inspections to prevent prohibited items.
• Lead tours of interior and exterior areas; inspect for hazards and issues.
• Prepare reports and logs; communicate issues to supervisor.
• Act as a member of the emergency response team and assist as needed.
• Support other protection staff and adhere to policies.
