Job summary

The Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office seeks a Senior Attorney to represent children in Florida dependency court. You will develop legal strategies, review case files, research law, file pleadings, and attend court proceedings with a multi-disciplinary team to secure permanency for children.

Candidates must be Florida Bar members with at least two years in dependency or related practice and possess strong trial skills and communication abilities across diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Licensed attorney admitted to The Florida Bar in good standing.
• Two years of experience in dependency or related law.
• Strong trial skills and ability to advocate in court.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Represent children in dependency court proceedings and advocate for their best interests.
• Develop legal strategies after reviewing case files and conducting independent investigations.
• File pleadings and motions; attend hearings, depositions and mediations.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve timely permanency for children.
• Assist and mentor other Guardian ad Litem attorneys; support management decisions.
