Job summary

Merchants Capital Corporation seeks a Senior Closer, GSE to manage and execute complex multifamily loan closings from onboarding through settlement, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant performance for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac transactions.

You will coordinate with Originations, Underwriting, Legal, Servicing, Asset Management, borrowers, counsel, title companies, and agency partners to resolve issues, mitigate risks, and deliver successful transactions while maintaining exceptional client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, Accounting, or related field.
• Minimum five years in commercial real estate lending, agency multifamily closings, or related.
• Knowledge of Fannie Mae DUS, Freddie Mac program suites and other agency products.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to interact with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of multifamily loan transactions from onboarding to funding and final settlement.
• Monitor Agency guidance and ensure closing requirements align with agency execution.
• Oversee closing process with external/internal partners and engage external counsel.
• Review underwriting and credit approval; align with closing requirements.
• Coordinate rate lock, commitments, and agency delivery documentation.
• Collaborate with underwriting, originations, legal, servicing, asset management, and partners to resolve issues.
• Analyze real estate tax and insurance escrow for closing; prepare reconciliations and closing docs.
• Review settlement statements, receipts, and disbursement ledgers for accuracy.
• Coordinate fundings, wire approvals, and disbursement activities for successful closings.
• Ensure satisfaction of underwriting, legal, and closing conditions prior to rate lock and funding.
• Oversee agency delivery submissions to Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac for certification/purchase.
• Maintain transaction records, schedules, and reporting; contribute to process improvements.
