Job summary

First Bank in Wilmington, NC seeks a Senior Loan Closer to independently fund US Government Guaranteed Lending (GGL) 7a and Express loans. You will manage an active GGL pipeline, assemble and verify documents, and ensure all signatures and data comply with GGL standards.

The role requires strong knowledge of GGL closings, ability to work with borrowers, attorneys, and title/escrow teams, and experience with CAFS/E-TRAN. Reports to the GGL Closing Manager and ensures timely closings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years in GGL experience or closely related lending closing role.
• Ability to manage end-to-end loan closing lifecycle with limited supervision.
• Strong knowledge of GGL SOPs, USDA regulations, and related processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review documents for GGL closings, including attorney and title work.
• Coordinate with borrowers, attorneys, and third parties to collect required items.
• Ensure closing documents are compliant and timelines met; communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Update Salesforce with pipeline data weekly for management tracking.
• Disburse funds per GGL terms and conditions and resolve any closing issues.
