Job summary

Merchants Capital Corporation is seeking a Senior Closer, GSE to manage and execute complex multifamily mortgage loan transactions through all closing lifecycle phases, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant execution of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac deals.

The role requires ownership of the closing process, proactive risk mitigation, and strong client service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in commercial real estate lending, agency multifamily closings, transaction management, underwriting, legal coordination, or related field.
• Experience with Fannie Mae DUS, Freddie Mac Program Plus, TEL, MTEBs, and other agency products preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for clients, attorneys, and agency partners.

Responsibilities

• Manage multifamily loan closings from onboarding to funding, agency delivery, and final settlement while ensuring compliance with policies and agency requirements.
• Monitor and apply current Agency guidance and updates across relevant resources.
• Coordinate closing activities with internal teams and external partners, including counsel and title companies.
• Oversee legal matters through closing and post-closing issue resolution with external counsel.
• Review applications, underwriting packages, and credit approvals to align closing requirements with agency execution.
• Prepare and manage lender commitments, rate lock coordination, and agency documentation.
