Markel is seeking a Senior Analyst, National Business Development to serve as a strategic partner by delivering data-driven insights, process improvements, and technology-enabled solutions that support growth objectives.

The role analyzes business trends, identifies opportunities and risks, mentors analysts, and leads projects from discovery to execution with a strong focus on Power BI, automation, and AI-driven initiatives.

Qualifications

Translate data into clear business insights and recommendations.
Engage business leaders in strategic discussions.
Strong communication and data storytelling skills.
Analytical mindset and experience with Power BI or similar tools.
Connect analytics to business strategy and outcomes.
Comfort with ambiguity and helping define the right question and answer.
Bachelor’s degree in analytics, business, insurance, or related field; or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in the insurance or adjacent industry.
Experience building insights, reports, or dashboards that inform business decisions.
Exposure to AI-enabled analytics, automation, or Microsoft Copilot.

Responsibilities

Lead projects from discovery through execution and develop scalable reporting frameworks.
