Job summary

The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) at Summit View Youth Center in Las Vegas, NV, seeks a Group Supervisor III to oversee care, custody and rehabilitation of youthful offenders on a designated shift within a secure state facility.

Ideal candidates will have a relevant degree and experience, with strong skills in de‑escalation, supervision, documentation, and collaboration with treatment teams to promote pro-social outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field and one year of experience in youth settings with group sessions and treatment teams.
• High school diploma with three years of relevant experience.
• One year as a Group Supervisor II in Nevada State service or equivalent.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Supervise youths within assigned unit and enforce rules.
• Conduct intake interviews and document histories and demographics.
• Perform security checks, head counts, and searches.
• Respond to emergencies and de-escalate aggression.
• Maintain youth case records and progress in treatment plans.
• Instruct youths in life, educational and vocational skills.
• Coordinate schedules with program and security needs.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
