Job summary

The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for a Group Supervisor I at the Nevada Youth Training Center in Elko, NV, a 60-bed secure facility for youth ages 12 to 18. The role supervises youths, observes behavior, and supports the treatment plan within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; two years' experience with the public or clients.
• 30 college credits in psychology, social work, sociology or related field plus one year experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise youths in assigned unit and monitor conduct per rules.
• Maintain comprehensive records of youths’ program activities.
• Provide guidance as part of a treatment team.
• Conduct intake interviews and document history and needs.
• Respond to emergencies and apply de-escalation techniques.
• Assist with life skills and educational activities.
