Located in the heart of Montclair, The MC Hotel is a lifestyle property that celebrates creativity, culture, and community. As part of the Autograph Collection by Marriott, our hotel blends independent spirit with exceptional service, making every guest experience unique and memorable.

Job Summary

The Senior Group Sales Manager is responsible for driving group room revenue by actively sourcing, negotiating, and closing group business. This role focuses on proactive sales efforts, strategic account management, and cultivating long-term relationships with clients in the corporate, association, and SMERF segments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solicit, negotiate, and close group room business to meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to attract new business and grow existing accounts.
  • Conduct site visits, client presentations, and hotel tours to effectively sell the property’s offerings.
  • Collaborate with the Events, Revenue, and Marketing teams to ensure alignment and maximize profitability.
  • Attend networking events, trade shows, and sales missions to build brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Maintain accurate records in sales systems (e.g., Delphi.fdc) and ensure all documentation is complete and up to date.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the sales cycle and ensure smooth transition to the servicing team.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of group sales experience in a hotel or hospitality environment required; lifestyle or boutique hotel experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales goals and building strong client relationships.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Marriott systems (Delphi.fdc, CI/TY, MARSHA) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
