Job summary

CIBC is seeking a Senior Group Portfolio Manager in Chicago to lead portfolio management and risk oversight for a defined group of commercial banking clients, aligning with the bank's risk culture and priorities.

You will guide Portfolio Managers and credit analysts, set direction, and foster an inclusive, high-performing team while partnering with Relationship Managers and risk partners to drive strong client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in portfolio and credit leadership within commercial or corporate banking.
• Ability to lead through complexity while maintaining risk discipline.
• Strong collaboration with risk, credit, and relationship teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead portfolio management oversight across a defined area, ensuring reviews, renewals, reporting, risk ratings, pricing reviews, and remediation are completed on time.
• Drive sound underwriting and approval practices with partners while exercising delegated authorities within limits.
• Strengthen client experience by managing workflow visibility, onboarding, and closing processes, resolving issues that affect delivery.
