The YMCA of Greater Charlotte is seeking a part-time Group Fitness Instructor to lead safe, engaging group experiences on land and in water under the guidance of the Group Fitness Director. You will design routines, engage members, and help grow participation while upholding the Y’s values.

Responsibilities include class planning, attendance tracking, scheduling substitutes, equipment management, and participation in outreach and safety procedures.

Competenze

• All YMCA of Greater Charlotte trainings completed by the required date.
• ACE Group Exercise Certification or AEA Water Fitness Certification (or equivalent) required.
• 5 years (500 hours) or more of teaching experience.
• Passion for helping people achieve fitness goals.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Reliable, self-motivated and self-starter.
• Outgoing personality with ability to build positive relationships.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to promote programs and services.
• Flexible work hours and ability to work evenings/weekends.
• Technologically proficient and adaptable.

Mansioni

• Design and prepare class routines meeting safety guidelines and current exercise physiology practices.
• Engage members before/after class to build relations.
• Record attendance and maintain at least 70% target with growth.
• Teach a minimum of 2 classes per week (8/month) and arrange substitutes when needed.
• Start and end class on time and maintain equipment; keep area clean.
• Participate in Community Outreach campaigns and branch safety procedures.
• Attend staff meetings and pursue continuing education aligned to goals and branch objectives.
• Support the mission, vision and direction of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte.
