Job summary

Securian Financial is building a new Group Disability & Leave product line. The Senior Group Disability & Leave Actuary will own pricing assumptions, methods, tools, and governance, partnering with Product, Underwriting, Finance, and external consultants.

The role requires deep knowledge of disability products, pricing, and financial drivers, with potential to lead a new actuarial team as the business grows.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Group Disability & Leave products with pricing and rate filing experience.
• Experience developing actuarial assumptions, pricing methods, tools, and supporting analysis for Disability and Leave products.
• Experience working with disability reserves development and testing.
• Ability to connect pricing with financial modeling, valuation, and results.

Responsibilities

• Lead actuarial pricing and capability development for Group Disability & Leave products.
• Develop assumptions, methods, tools, documentation and controls for pricing.
• Support new business pricing, renewal strategies and product filings.
• Provide actuarial consultation to underwriting on plan design and pricing for complex cases.
• Lead quarterly analysis of morbidity results and projections.
