Job summary

Securian Financial Group in Saint Paul, MN, is seeking an Senior Actuary to lead pricing for the new Group Disability & Leave product line. You will own pricing assumptions, methods, tools, governance, and collaborate with Product, Underwriting, Finance and external consultants.

The role focuses on developing experience rating tools, pricing for filings, and strategic guidance to support product launches, renewals and profitable growth, with potential to build and lead a pricing team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Group Disability & Leave products with pricing and rate filing experience.
• Experience developing actuarial assumptions, pricing methods, tools, and supporting analysis for Disability/Leave products.
• Experience with disability reserves development and testing.
• Experience linking pricing with financial modeling and results.
• Proficiency with Prophet, R, Excel, or VBA.

Responsibilities

• Actuarial Pricing and Capability Development: own pricing assumptions, methods, tools, controls and documentation.
• Develop Disability experience rating tools and reserves for case pricing.
• Support new business pricing and renewal strategies.
• Lead actuarial support for filings and regulatory responses.
• Partner with external consultants to build pricing capabilities.
