Job summary

Securian Financial in Saint Paul, MN is building a new Group Disability & Leave product line and seeks a Senior Actuary to create and own the pricing capability for this initiative.

The role collaborates with Product, Case Underwriting, Finance, and external consultants to price, test, and govern assumptions, methods, and tools, with growth potential to lead a team as the business scales.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Group Disability & Leave products with pricing and rate filing experience.
• Experience developing actuarial assumptions, pricing methods, tools, and supporting analysis for Disability and Leave products.
• Experience working with development and testing of Disability reserves.
• Experience connecting pricing with financial modeling, valuation, and financial results.

Responsibilities

• Actuarial pricing and capability development: create and own assumptions, methods, tools, and controls for pricing.
• Develop Disability experience rating tools and related reserves and assumptions for case pricing.
• Support development of new business pricing and renewal strategies.
• Lead actuarial support for product filings and regulatory responses.
• Partner with external consultants to build pricing expertise.
