Blue Origin is seeking a Ground Software Engineer in Colorado to design, implement, test, verify and deploy mission operations software for the Ground System supporting space mission operations. You will collaborate with flight vehicle systems, mission control infrastructure, and customers to define software requirements and architectures, and develop prototypes to quantify risks.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, aerospace engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Experience in software engineering over the full lifecycle including design, requirements, implementation, verification, and release.
• Experience in build automation, CI, configuration management, verification, and deployment.
• Demonstrated software development skills in multiple languages with ability to pick language per problem.
• Familiarity with Linux environment and basic Unix system administration activities.
• Ability to earn trust and maintain positive relationships.
• Active Top Secret Clearance preferred.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, test, verify and deploy mission operations software systems, ensuring the success of the overall Ground System (hardware/software) supporting Blue Origin space mission operations.
• Work with multiple teams to define software requirements, architectures, and designs.
• Develop rapid prototypes to prove concepts and quantify technical risks.
• Coordinate with systems infrastructure and system engineers to plan, develop, and verify to meet safety-critical standards.
• Produce user documentation for software architecture, design, verification plans, user manuals and training material.
• Follow software development processes to ensure software safety and reliability.
• Support update cycles during pre-flight testing, mission validation exercises and operations training events.
• Integrate software components, run unit and system tests, validate with Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop simulators.
