Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a Senior Systems Operations Engineer to support its Distribution Operations team, focused on real-time electric grid operations and reliability of control-center systems. The role emphasizes power systems analysis, State Estimator support, contingency analysis, and collaboration with operators to improve EMS models and grid reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• Minimum of four (4) years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate across teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute complex engineering projects and field assignments.
• Perform engineering studies and analyses to support electric distribution system operations.
• Develop and recommend solutions to engineering challenges affecting grid performance and reliability.
• Support and maintain State Estimator and other EMS applications.
• Analyze system models and recommend improvements based on real-time data.
• Collaborate with system operators and cross-functional teams to improve operational awareness and grid reliability.
• Develop engineering models and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers, technicians, and other team members.
