Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer to manage engineering work in EMS with minimal supervision. You will develop advanced skills and work independently on complex projects, while coordinating with IT and EMS teams to ensure cyber security and compliance.

You’ll lead studies, develop technical standards, and prepare detailed reports. This role requires a BS in engineering from ABET, with 6+ years of experience; a PE or Master’s degree may substitute. Hybrid work is offered.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Minimum six years related experience; PE preferred/required within scope.
• Master’s degree may substitute for BS.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering guidance for complex EMS problems with system-wide impact.
• Lead studies and coordinate complex projects with technical responsibility.
• Develop corporate positions on EMS technical matters and future direction.
• Ensure cyber security, NERC and O&P compliance for EMS environments.
• Maintain knowledge of EMS software: State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, Network.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and sketches for expanding scope.
