Job summary

Siemens Digital Industries Software is seeking a Grid Operations Architect to own the architectural vision for scaling a global HPC grid. You will lead the migration from AGE to Accelerator, design future grid topologies, and drive modernization across 18+ grids with 9+ clusters.

A seasoned leader will coordinate capacity planning and governance, while aligning with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
15+ years in systems engineering, infrastructure architecture, or HPC/grid computing with leadership experience.
Experience scaling compute infrastructure across multi-site, enterprise environments (100K+ cores).
Strong Linux knowledge; kernel tuning, performance optimization, large-scale fleet management.
Proven ability to migrate/consolidate schedulers (e.g., AGE to Accelerator).
Proven ability to present complex technical concepts to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Own multi-year architectural roadmap to scale grid compute to 1M+ cores across 18+ grids.
Design migration plan from AGE to Accelerator's hierarchical scheduling.
Lead capacity planning and forecasting aligned with utilization and procurement governance.
Develop unified grid tooling, automation, and observability across regions.
Mentor grid admins and establish governance for large-scale compute operations.
Collaborate with A&S, networking, storage, and virtualization teams for end-to-end coherence.
