Job summary

1898 & Co., a division of Burns & McDonnell, seeks a Grid Systems Senior Solution Architect to lead modernization consulting for electric utilities. Focus areas include SCADA, EMS, OMS, DMS, ADMS, and DERMS within Enterprise System & Integration, with emphasis on grid automation and program delivery.

The role requires strong utility industry knowledge, leadership, and experience delivering enterprise architecture and integration across complex grid projects. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; applicable work experience may substitute for the degree.
• Minimum 7 years of enterprise/operations architecture strategies and integration solutions.
• Experience with electric utility clients in implementing and integrating OMS, DMS, ADMS, AMI, Distribution Automation, and DER is preferred.
• Strong ability to influence or lead project execution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Travel: <30%.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop and implement SCADA, EMS, OMS, DMS, ADMS, and DERMS solutions.
• Provide field support, testing and deployment for grid systems.
• Lead program estimating, planning, budgeting, and delivery execution.
• Support enterprise program management utilizing Waterfall and Agile methods.
• Ensure project quality, budget, scope, and milestones.
• Act as application and solution architect on architecture teams.
• Assist with business process design and end-to-end integration mapping.
• Coordinate cross-application interfaces and business events.
