National Grid is seeking a Senior System Operator for the Transmission Control Center in Liverpool, NY. The role requires operating in a 12-hour rotating shift pattern to ensure 24/7 coverage and adherence to FERC, NERC, NYISO, and company standards.

During the first six months, a comprehensive training curriculum will be provided to obtain necessary qualifications, including NERC Reliability Coordinator Certification and security clearances.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 5+ years in operations, maintenance, engineering, or real-time monitoring of electric transmission or related control room environment.
• Knowledge of power system operations, EMS, and SCADA systems.
• Strong communication and ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical support to enable safe, reliable operation of New York transmission system.
• Coordinate generator dispatch with generators and NYISO.
• Perform system and operating studies for planned work and real-time operations.
• Oversee switching operations on the transmission system.
• Maintain relationships with EMS staff, NYISO, field operations, engineering, and customers.
