Job summary

Versant Power is seeking a System Operator NERC for the Hampden Operations Center, overseeing the electrical system operations in northern and eastern Maine. The role requires operating knowledge of transmission and distribution systems, adherence to NERC and ISO-NE procedures, and timely outage management.

The position is full-time with rotating 12-hour shifts, and the successful candidate will work under the Supervisor, System Operations, ensuring safety and reliability across the system.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in a technical field is required.
• Excellent mathematical, communication, and organizational skills required.
• Identity verification and seven-year criminal background check with update at least every seven years per NERC standards.
• Position requires a valid Class “C” driver's license in the State of Maine.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains the Versant Power transmission and distribution systems in a safe, reliable manner.
• Maintains knowledge of ISO-NE, Maine/LCC, and Versant Power operating procedures.
• Prepares operating reports per FERC, NERC, ISO-NE reporting requirements.
• Dispatches outage calls during non-business hours and may do so during regular hours.
