Job summary

National Grid in Liverpool, NY is seeking a Senior Outage Coordinator (Transmission) to lead outage planning, scheduling, and field coordination on the Transmission system. You will balance system conditions, constraints, and resource availability to deliver safe, reliable outages that support capital projects.

The role requires strong analysis, stakeholder collaboration, and knowledge of EMS/SCADA and outage management systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience in electric system operations and outage coordination.
Knowledge of substation and transmission line construction and reliability concepts.
Familiarity with EMS/SCADA and outage management systems.
Ability to analyze risks and make sound operational decisions.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinate outage planning, scheduling, and coordination of system activities on the Transmission system.
Collaborate with field operations and Transmission customers to facilitate work.
Identify load at risk and create contingency plans to mitigate exposure.
Approve work activities per internal procedures and balance workload.
Communicate schedules, priorities, and constraints to stakeholders.
Participate in outage review meetings and planning sessions.
Ensure adherence to outage processes and change management policies.
