Job summary

Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is seeking a Grid Analysis engineer to perform power-flow simulations, regional transfer analyses, and develop reliability plans. You will work with senior engineers to support market design issues, CMPs, and grid improvements while engaging with stakeholders.

The role requires experience with power system studies, scripting/programming, and on-site presence in Taylor, TX with flexible remote options from Texas residence.

Qualifications

• Power-flow simulation experience.
• Experience evaluating CMPs/RASs.
• Strong understanding of electric utility operations and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform power-flow simulations to evaluate CMPs and RASs using PowerWorld, PSSE, VSAT.
• Perform regional power transfer analysis to identify wide-area cascading risks.
• Develop and maintain ERCOT's Black Start Plan from resource selection to restoration.
• Evaluate generator and transmission equipment performance against reliability requirements and forecast future needs.
• Propose and implement improvements to maintain grid reliability and participate in stakeholder meetings.
