Job summary

Joslyn Art Museum seeks an experienced Grants Manager to lead grant writing and fundraising efforts, manage the full grant lifecycle, and cultivate relationships with foundations, government entities, and corporate partners. The role collaborates with internal teams to ensure timely funding deliverables and effective stewardship.

Responsibilities include preparing proposals and budgets, coordinating reporting, and expanding funding opportunities while maintaining grant calendars and compliance

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate a successful history of writing and managing foundation and government grants
• Hold a four-year degree or relevant experience in writing, English, journalism, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus
• 3-5 years of experience in grant writing and persuasive communications, ideally with a nonprofit or foundation
• Familiarity with donor stewardship and cultivation strategies
• Strong command of grammar and syntax, with clear, concise proposals
• Excellent at collaborating and communicating across functions and with employees and stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications with budgets and attachments
• Manage the full grant lifecycle: prospect research, submission coordination, reporting, and stewardship
• Identify and secure funding from foundations, government agencies, and other institutional partners
• Collaborate with Finance and program teams to prepare budgets and grant reports
• Maintain grant agreements, contracts, calendars, and deadlines for timely deliverables
• Build corporate partnerships and expand funding opportunities through research and outreach
• Maintain donor and funder records to support fundraising strategies and decision-making
