AC Disaster Consulting, Tulsa-based, seeks a Senior Grants & Finance Advisor to provide full-time support to the Harris County Flood Control District Finance Department and its grant accounting responsibilities.

This senior advisory role emphasizes grant management, accounting, and process improvement, with up to 10% travel to client sites in Houston. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in government grant accounting and strong MS Word/Excel skills.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of relevant experience in governmental/grant accounting, federal grant administration, financial compliance, or related advisory/consulting work.

Responsabilidades

• Review grant accounting policies, procedures, workflows, internal controls, and financial management practices.
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, compliance risks, manual processes, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and improve SOPs, desk procedures, internal controls, reconciliation processes, reimbursement procedures, reporting practices, and QA/QC tools.
• Provide guidance on grant accounting, allowable costs, documentation, reconciliations, reimbursements, financial reporting, audit readiness, and compliance.
• Assess practices against federal grant requirements, including 2 CFR Part 200, where applicable.
• Work with leadership and staff to develop practical recommendations and implementation plans.
• Facilitate meetings and working sessions with leadership, finance staff, auditors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Support implementation through procedures, templates, training materials, tools, and staff guidance.
