Job summary

AC Disaster Consulting seeks a Senior Grants & Finance Advisor to provide full-time support to Harris County Flood Control District's Finance Department. This senior advisory role focuses on grant accounting and financial management.

You will review policies, develop SOPs, ensure compliance with 2 CFR Part 200, and collaborate with leadership, staff, and auditors. Travel up to 10% to client sites, including Houston.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of government/grant accounting experience.
• Proven ability to improve financial policies, controls, and processes.
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review grant accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Identify gaps and develop practical recommendations and SOPs.
• Support compliance with 2 CFR Part 200 and audit readiness.
• Prepare reports and assist in financial oversight and reimbursements.
• Collaborate with leadership and auditors to implement improvements.
