Job summary

University of California, Davis is seeking a Financial Analyst 3 to independently conduct complex financial analysis and reconciliation of contracts and grants expenditures exceeding $5 million. The role supports pre-award and post-award activities, prepares monthly reports, and collaborates with Principal Investigators and the CAO to ensure compliance with OMB Uniform Guidance and sponsor requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience or training.
• Financial analysis experience including cost allocation, forecasting, and strategic planning to analyze, compile and interpret financial data and reports to present complex data for decision-making purposes.
• Experience working on extramural funds, including detailed budget preparation, assistance with scopes of work, financial analysis and forecasting.
• Extensive knowledge in federal financial guidelines as stated in OMB Uniform Guidance for Federal awards.
• Proven organizational skills to work with changing priorities, pressure of deadlines, and demanding workload.
• Ability to plan, anticipate operational needs, forecast deadlines, set objectives/goals, multitask, and coordinate assignments including follow-ups.
• Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals.
• Computer skills to utilize various programs and software for word processing, spreadsheets, and website applications
• Ability to manage multiple funds involving different accounting procedures including analysis, reconciliation, projection, fiscal closing and grant preparation.
• Knowledge and experience using standard accounting principles and practices.
• Experience using Windows-based programs.
• Advanced knowledge and expertise in the use of Excel, especially pivot tables.
