Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Senior to join our Compliance Advisory team in a cross-functional role focused on grant management and compliance for governmental, tribal, private, and not-for-profit clients. You will assess compliance, strengthen controls, and develop practical policies.

You will collaborate with clients to improve accounting practices, communicate findings clearly, and mentor junior staff. A background in government/non-profit environments and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience; public accounting or professional services preferred.
• Experience with governmental, tribal, and/or not-for-profit organizations preferred.
• Experience with grant management and compliance activities, internal control reviews or assessments, and/or internal audit.
• Experience with Single Audits and federally funded programs preferred.
• CPA, CIA, CGMA, CFE, or related designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support project planning and execute grant compliance monitoring activities, including monitoring programs and subrecipient performance.
• Perform and lead grant compliance reviews and develop actionable findings and recommendations.
• Perform internal control reviews, internal audits, and operational assessments.
• Develop and enhance policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls.
• Conduct interviews, review documents, perform analyses, and prepare client deliverables like findings and reports.
• Collaborate with clients to improve accounting practices and strengthen compliance and operations.
• Communicate project status, issues, and results to team members and client stakeholders.
• Provide guidance to junior team members to ensure high-quality delivery.
