Job summary

The USDA Forest Service seeks a Supervisory Grants Management Specialist to provide technical and administrative supervision over a team of Grants and Agreement Specialists and Assistants. You will manage a comprehensive unit's Grants and Agreement program, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations and overseeing the full grant life cycle.

You will interpret federal funding rules, approve grant actions, and supervise staff while coordinating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
Male applicants born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
Background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
Direct deposit for federal payments is required.

1-year probationary period required.

Responsibilities

Processes a full range of grant and agreement applications to determine award selections.
Interprets laws and regulations concerning use of Federal funds and program expenditures.
Approves grants and agreements for the unit; notifies funding opportunities.
Reviews grant and agreement applications for clarity and completeness.
Monitors changes in laws, regulations, and policies related to grants and agreements; analyzes impacts.
Closes out grants and agreements per closeout procedures.
Performs supervisory duties 25% or more of the time.
