Job summary

The Department of Agriculture, through the USDA Forest Service, seeks a Supervisory Grants Management Specialist to lead a team of Grants and Agreement Specialists and Assistants in administering the unit’s grants portfolio.

This position requires strong supervisory skills, in-depth knowledge of grant administration, and the ability to interpret complex laws and regulations related to Federal funds and program expenditures.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a team and coordinating work assignments.
• Experience handling grant/cooperative agreements and related administrative processes.

Responsibilities

• Processes a full range of grant and agreement applications to determine award eligibility.
• Interprets laws and regulations concerning use of Federal funds and program expenditures.
• Approves all grants and agreements for the unit and notifies funding availability.
• Reviews grant and agreement applications for clarity and completeness.
• Monitors changes in laws, regulations and policies affecting grants management and reporting.
• Closes out grants and agreements per closeout procedures.
• Performs supervisory duties 25% or more of the time.
