Job summary

The USDA Forest Service seeks a Supervisory Grants Management Specialist to oversee a team of Grants and Agreement Specialists and Assistants within a unit. Responsibilities include supervising, processing grant applications, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations governing federal funds.

Qualified candidates will have extensive grants management experience, strong supervisory skills, and the ability to interpret complex regulations.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in managing complex grants/cooperative agreements.
• Ability to lead a supervisory team and assign work to meet production/quality standards.
• Experience advising senior program officials and external partners on grant management matters.

Responsibilities

• Process a full range of grant and agreement applications to determine awards.
• Interpret laws and regulations concerning Federal funds and expenditures.
• Approve grants and agreements and notify funding availability.
• Review grant/award applications for clarity and completeness.
• Monitor changes in laws/regulations affecting grants management and reporting.
• Close out grants and agreements per procedures.
