Job summary

The University of Virginia Office of Sponsored Programs seeks a Senior Grants Administrator to join the Faculty Proposal Services team. This role offers on-site, hybrid or fully remote work under UVA guidelines, reporting to the Associate Director of Pre-Award.

You will guide faculty through proposal preparation, budgets, and compliance in a deadline-driven environment. Responsibilities include managing the end-to-end submission process, compiling and reviewing administrative proposal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; four additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• Five years of grant and contract experience.
• Travel may be required on occasion for meetings and programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary pre-award partner, delivering consultative customer service to faculty and unit administrators.
• Manage end-to-end grant submission process; review FOAs/RFAs/PAs and create proposal timelines.
• Assist faculty with compiling, formatting, and reviewing administrative proposal components (biosketches, current and pending, facilities and resources, letters of support, subawards).
• Prepare, draft, and revise detailed proposal budgets and justifications in line with sponsor guidelines.
• Upload finalized proposal packages into sponsor systems and UVA's eRA system.
• Provide subject matter expertise on research administration and applicable policies (FAR, Uniform Guidance).
• Review proposals for compliance with University, State, and Sponsor guidelines.
• Support pre-award post-submission requests (Just-In-Time, PI transfers, spending approvals, RPPRs).
