Job summary

Grand Valley State University is hiring a grants accounting professional to manage post-award activities for multiple awards. You will prepare financial statements, review budgets, and respond to compliance concerns, ensuring timely reporting and audit readiness.

The role requires a bachelor’s in accounting with 5+ years in sponsored awards; a master’s degree and CPA are preferred. Hybrid work and a strong benefits package accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in accounting or related field required.
• 5+ years in sponsored awards/contracts, budgets, reports or billings.
• Master’s degree and CPA preferred for advanced roles.

Responsibilities

• Manage post-award accounting for multiple grants and contracts.
• Monitor sub-recipients per Single Audit and policies.
• Prepare project statements, budget reviews and responses.
• Lead annual single audit and major programs.
• Handle receivables, Workday billing, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Provide ad hoc financial reports and support leadership.
