Job summary

Washtenaw Community College seeks a Grants Administrator to manage post-award oversight and ensure compliant, timely implementation of grant-funded initiatives across the college.

Reporting to the Director of Grants Development and Management, the role collaborates with project leads and the accounting team, maintaining dashboards, tracking metrics, and preparing reports per funder guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Administration or a related field and at least two (2) successful years experience in grants management OR equivalent education and work experience.
  • Preferably one (1) year experience supporting a community college or university.
  • Grant management experience and knowledge of OMB CFR 200 highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the grants management process.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Internet applications in a Windows environment, and integrated software systems.
  • Effective organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work and solve problems independently, set priorities, and organize workload.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential materials.
  • Ability to use workplace technology relevant to the position, including the capacity to learn and appropriately leverage emerging AI-supported tools. Ability to assess the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated content, maintain confidentiality, and apply sound judgment and ethical practices in the use of technology.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project leads and the Restricted Funds Accounting Team to ensure compliance with grant requirements and spending plans.
  • Organize grant award kickoff meetings and coordinate grant closeout procedures, including final reporting and record archiving.
  • Support project leads in tracking grant performance metrics, deliverables, and outcome data per funder guidelines.
  • Maintain and update the internal grants dashboard and electronic filing system for documentation and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate budget modifications, required reports, renewal applications, extension requests, and other award paperwork.
  • Draft and submit documentation for award amendments or change requests as required by funders.
  • Interpret regulations governing grant administration and ensure consistent implementation across projects.
  • Develop and deliver training on grant compliance, allowable costs, reporting expectations, and internal processes.
  • Participate in process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness of grants management.
  • Assist the Director in preparing proposals with focus on continuity, alignment with college priorities, and sustainability.
