Job summary

The SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Senior Accountant/Fiscal Analyst to oversee grant accounting, budgeting, and financial oversight for federal and state programs. The role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with program managers.

Applicants should have a high school diploma with related accounting experience; a bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus professional experience in accounting, auditing, finance, or related area.
• Bachelor’s degree may substitute for required work experience.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly Cash Management reconciliation and journal entries.
• Prepare and submit documentation to the Executive Budget Office and grantor sites.
• Load and monitor grant budgets by grant and cost center; forecast adjustments.
• Approve SRM documents, contracts and purchases for grants; post grant drawdowns.
• Review grants for indirect cost provisions and close grants after reconciliation.
• Assist in submitting grant proposals and NOFO grant applications.
• Prepare federal financial and programmatic reports as required.
• Coordinate with auditors and sub recipients as needed.
