The State of South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department is seeking an accountant to join the finance team. You will perform monthly fiscal tasks, monitor the general ledger, and handle grant activity reporting in accordance with state regulations.

• Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of accounting, auditing, budgeting and financial management.
• Knowledge of state government fiscal and accounting practices and financial statement analysis.
• Ability to interpret and analyze financial data, records, and reports.

Responsabilidades

• Performing monthly fiscal responsibilities including contract billings and submitting billings to Accounts Receivable.
• Monitoring General Ledger per the Comptroller General's Monthly Checklist and grant regulations.
• Correcting funding errors identified during monthly review.
• Assisting with monitoring grant activity by updating monthly reports including match and program income.
• Preparing monthly RSA reporting.
• Conduct quarterly Cost Allocation Plan analysis.
• Determine and prepare journal entries to allocate cost per quarterly analysis.
• Review annual administrative salary funding split for Federal and State.
• Assist in reviewing Cost Allocation Plan annually and propose changes.
• Prepare allocation of annual insurance expenditures and quarterly workers' compensation expenditures.
• Prepare and request draws for Basic Support Grants after supervisor approval.
• Prepare documentation for quarterly RSA reporting for Basic Support Grants and submit for supervisor review.
• Prepare and submit assigned year-end closing package by deadlines.
• Prepare documentation support for closing packages.
• Assist as backup to other essential finance functions and in special projects.
