Job summary

The State of South Carolina Department of Public Health is seeking a diligent Grant Accountant to support financial reporting, grant compliance, and cash draw-down management for a diverse portfolio of federally funded programs. This role liaises with program staff, federal agencies, and internal financial teams to ensure grant-related accounting is accurate, timely, and compliant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field with relevant experience.
• Experience with grant accounting, financial reporting, and audits.
• Ability to prepare FFRs and manage grant cash draws.
• Knowledge of federal grant requirements and state agency policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit internal and external financial reports for grants, including FFRs.
• Collaborate with program staff to develop custom financial reports.
• Perform grant accounting tasks such as journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare, review, and submit invoices for grant-funded contracts.
• Manage federal draw-downs and reconcile with grant systems.
• Process daily WIC food and Farmers Market draws and wire transfers.
• Provide ad-hoc support as needed.
