Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Senior to join the Compliance Advisory team in a cross-functional role serving governmental, tribal, private, and not-for-profit organizations. Focus areas include grant management, compliance, internal controls, and policy development to strengthen processes and organizational effectiveness.

You will work with clients to assess needs, develop practical solutions, and deliver clear reports and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or a related field.
• Master’s in Accounting, MBA, or MPA preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience; public accounting or professional services preferred.
• CPA/CIA/CGMA/CFE or other designation preferred.
• Familiarity with GAGAS/Yellow Book, Uniform Guidance, and IIA standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support project planning and execute grant compliance monitoring activities; develop monitoring programs and review subrecipient performance.
• Perform and lead grant compliance reviews; evaluate documentation and develop findings and recommendations.
• Lead internal control reviews, internal audits, and operational assessments.
• Develop and enhance policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls.
• Conduct interviews, review documents, perform analyses, and prepare client deliverables and reports.
• Collaborate with clients to understand accounting practices and develop practical improvements.
• Communicate project status and results to team and client stakeholders; guide junior staff.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business/public administration (or related)

Master’s in Accounting/MBA/MPA preferred
