Job summary

Samsung Electronics America is seeking a GPU modeling engineer in Austin to develop functional and performance models for GPU blocks and the pipeline. You will collaborate with architects, RTL designers, verification and software engineers to ensure accuracy and alignment with design specs.

The role requires strong C++ (STL) in Linux, hardware modeling, and GPU architecture knowledge. Master’s degree with 3 years’ experience or Bachelor’s with 5 years is acceptable.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field with 3 years GPU engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5 years GPU engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for functional and performance modeling of GPU pipeline blocks.
• Interface with architects, RTL designers, verification engineers and software engineers to understand the GPU pipeline.
• Design and architect C++ models of GPU blocks.
• Develop and maintain functional and performance models of complex systems and validate for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure models are up-to-date and consistent with latest design specs.
• Identify optimization opportunities in functional and performance models.
• Implement and test the GPU models.
• Simulate model behavior to validate characteristics.
• Identify architecture, micro-architecture, and implementation optimizations to enhance GPU functionality and performance.
