Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Model Optimization Engineer for the ML Platform to optimize ML models for GPU architectures, covering training and inference, and to identify bottlenecks via detailed profiling.

You will collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to deploy optimized models, develop tooling, and create visualizations to enhance ML workflows. Roblox offers an equity compensation package and benefits in addition to a base salary.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in building performant systems.
• Experience debugging GPU-related issues and profiling GPU performance.
• Proficient with CUDA/Triton/TensorRT to accelerate model execution.
• Experience with model optimization techniques for LLMs (quantization, batching, etc.).
• Strong collaboration with data scientists and software engineers to deploy optimized models.

Responsibilities

• Optimize machine learning models for GPU performance in training and inference.
• Conduct low-level performance profiling to identify bottlenecks and propose improvements.
• Contribute to tooling and best practices for model optimization and deployment.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to integrate optimized models into production environments.
• Develop tooling and visualizations to improve ML workflows at Roblox.
