Job summary

InDyne, Inc. is seeking a GPS Technician III for on-site work at Patuxent River, MD. The role focuses on maintaining GPS tracking systems, wiring harnesses, and supporting flight-test operations. Candidates should have extensive wiring, soldering, and avionics experience with DoD environments.

The position requires IPC/J-STD-001 or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification, and may involve travel for DoD tests. A strong foundation in electrical theory and engineering drawings is essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• AA/AS in Engineering/Electronics or related tech training.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in the stated function.
• At least 4 years wiring electrical components, fabricating wire harnesses and soldering PC boards.
• IPC-J-STD-001 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
• Strong AC/DC electrical/electronic theory and troubleshooting skills.
• Reading and working from engineering drawings, wiring schematics, SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Operate with minimal supervision, ensuring range instrumentation integrity during flight ops.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair GPS tracking systems, antennae, cabling, and related RF gear using diagnostic tools.
• Install GPS hardware on aircraft/test platforms in MILSPEC/NAVAIR-compliant processes.
• Provide pre-, in-flight, and post-flight range support for NAS Patuxent River activities and DoD tests.
• Perform mission data recording, data extraction, and post-flight verification for TSPI analyses.
• Collaborate with range systems engineers to fabricate wire harnesses and test GPS receivers/datalink hardware.
• Support flight test schedules requiring overtime and travel (up to 25%).
