Job summary

Databricks seeks a Senior Support Engineer (GovOps) to join the Cleared Engineering team in McLean, VA. You will act as a technical authority during escalations across platform domains, writing diagnostics and automations to keep GovCloud, FedRAMP High, and air-gapped environments secure and reliable.

You’ll partner with Core Engineering, perform root-cause analysis, and lead live incident responses while ensuring compliance with federal security standards and secure facility requirements.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Systems Eng, Math, or equivalent.
• 5+ years in systems engineering, cloud infra, DevSecOps, or related ops.
• Deep Linux/Unix internals, networking, and distributed systems.
• Proficient in Python, Bash, Go, or Java with debugging.
• Experience with cloud infra across GovCloud/Azure Gov/GCP.
• IaC tools Terraform/CloudFormation; Docker/Kubernetes.
• 3+ years of technical writing/comms.
• On-site at McLean, VA SCIF; on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Handle escalations beyond ticket resolution across Compute, Networking, Storage, IAM, and OS domains.
• Write and adapt Python, Bash, or Go scripts to automate triage and recovery.
• Lead technical triage and incident response during high-consequence events.
• Collaborate with Core Engineering to fix defects and improve platform reliability.
• Ensure deployments and interventions align with FedRAMP High and ITAR/IL5.
