Qualifications

• Advanced accounting knowledge and ability to analyze complex financial transactions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with financial systems and Excel for reporting and analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration across departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex reconciliations of financial accounts, expenditures, revenues and encumbrances; investigate discrepancies and propose corrective actions.
• Apply GAAP, GASB and fund accounting principles across state and federal requirements; monitor policy compliance.
• Utilize Maine's Advantage system to research transactions and support accurate reporting; improve workflows and controls.
• Analyze appropriations, expenditures and allocations; prepare reports to support budgeting and financial planning.
• Coordinate with federal reimbursement and state/federal partners to ensure accurate financial documentation.
