The Department of Defense in Georgia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to manage complex reconciliations, financial reporting, and year-end closing. In this role, you will oversee essential fiscal operations and ensure compliance with state and federal fund regulations.

Based in Marietta, this role offers a challenging, mission-driven environment with strong benefits and opportunities to contribute to GA defense programs and financial integrity across multiple funds.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and three years of professional accounting experience; or two years at Accountant 3 (FIP022) or equivalent.
• Five or more years of state accounting experience preferred.
• Strong GAAP and compliance knowledge with federal/state fund regulations.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee federal/state AR, capital asset accounting, bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.
• Lead year-end close and prepare internal and external financial reports.
• Analyze ledger balances and use reports and queries to resolve discrepancies.
• Apply GAAP within the accounting system and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist with developing financial policies to support agency goals.
