Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Proposal Writer for a fully remote role in the United States. You will craft compliant and compelling narratives in response to government solicitations, lead sections, and develop graphics to illustrate complex concepts.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team, manage schedules, and ensure alignment with overall proposal strategy. The role may require evenings or weekends to meet deadlines and support high-value proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to write compliant and compelling proposal sections in response to government solicitations.
• Experience tailoring content for complex non-technical proposal sections (e.g., management, quality, staffing) for IT solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment.
• Experience writing for government proposals valued at $25M+.

Responsibilities

• Create compliant and compelling proposal content by analyzing solicitation requirements.
• Lead management, quality, and transition volumes; may also work on resumes, staffing, and past performance.
• Use critical thinking to develop content and graphics via storyboarding.
• Deliver required artifacts according to the schedule.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate win themes and discriminators into sections.
• Ensure alignment of assigned section with proposal strategy and messaging.
• Create oral presentation slides on various topics.
• Serve as a section/volume lead, and reviewer.
• Write proposal narratives responsive to requirements and highlight benefits.
• Develop or refine graphics supporting the solution.
• Analyze proposal requirements and materials to integrate concepts into narrative.
• Revise content based on color team feedback.
• Meet or exceed milestones and deadlines; may work evenings/weekends.
