Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, headquartered in Boca Raton, FL, seeks a Senior Government Project Accountant. The role supports multiple U.S. offices (Lakewood, Greenwood Village, Colorado Springs, Chicago, Oak Brook) with a hybrid work option.

You will oversee government project accounting, invoicing, cost control, and contract administration to ensure compliance with FAR and client requirements. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and at least five years of government

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• Minimum five years of Government Accounting experience coordinating and administering the invoicing process.
• Knowledge of job costing, contract file administration and understanding of project revenue recognition.
• Well versed in collecting and billing of governmental programs; understanding of FAR.
• Experience with BST accounting system or similar system; proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Contract Administration: manage government projects with high complexity; advise on financial aspects; prepare and review invoices and supporting documentation; ensure proper billing and revenue recognition; adjust projections and report variances.
• Project/Financial Analysis: support budgets, change orders, subcontract tracking, and cost tracking; prepare financial reports and perform variance analyses.
• Government Accounting Support: assist with representations, track government program usage, participate in audits, maintain Prime Contracts.
• Accounting Management: oversee branch accounting functions for government and commercial clients; ensure compliance with policies.
