Job summary

Addison Group in Tysons, VA is seeking an experienced Accountant specialized in government contracting to manage cost-plus, time & materials, and fixed-price invoicing. You will validate direct costs, reconcile billing, and support audits while ensuring compliance with FAR Part 31.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional accounting experience.
• Government contracting experience preferred.
• Experience in government contract billing, project accounting, or related functions.
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review customer invoices for Cost-Plus, Time & Materials, and fixed-price contracts.
• Validate labor, subcontractor, and other direct costs for billing accuracy and contractual compliance.
• Perform billing reconciliations and analyze unbilled receivables.
• Assist with final invoices, final vouchers, and contract closeout documentation.
• Monitor contract funding limitations and help resolve billing discrepancies.
• Coordinate with Contracts and Program Management to support accurate and timely billing.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with balance sheet account analysis and financial statement reporting.
• Support external audits and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Maintain accounting records in accordance with company policies and internal controls.
• Assist with annual Incurred Cost Submissions.
• Support indirect cost rate calculations, reconciliations, and true-up analyses.
• Apply FAR Part 31 principles when reviewing allowable and unallowable costs.
• Prepare supporting documentation for DCAA audits and compliance reviews.
• Assist with final indirect rate settlements and contract closeout activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across accounting and finance processes
