Applied Intuition in Washington, DC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to manage full-cycle AP for government contracts, lead job costing, and oversee subcontractor invoicing and travel expense audits.

The role emphasizes FAR/DFARS, JFTR, per diem policies, and tax accruals, with close collaboration across project managers, procurement, and contracts teams to ensure audit readiness and compliant cost allocations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting in a federal government contracting environment.
• Strong FAR/DFARS cost principles and government accounting standards.
• Experience processing travel expenses under JFTR/FTR and per diem rules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle AP processing with FAR-compliant practices.
• Manage job cost coding allocations and allowability determinations per FAR 31.
• Review subcontractor invoices for contract terms and funding alignment.
• Audit travel expense reports per JFTR/FTR and per diem rules.
• Apply per diem rates from GSA schedules and specific contracts.
• Calculate sales and use tax accruals and ensure proper remittance.
• Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules, and book adjusting entries.
• Collaborate with PMs, procurement, and contracts to validate costs.
• Prepare schedules for DCAA/DCMA audits and IRS filings as needed.
