Metro Consulting Associates, LLC seeks a Construction Inspector I to observe civil projects, liaise between field and office staff, and ensure compliance with plans, specs, and safety standards. You will oversee field inspection crews, coordinate with contractors, and report progress to clients and agencies.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree and 3–5 years of field experience, with knowledge of NASSCO standards and AutoCAD Civil3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• Minimum three to five (3-5) years of construction field experience leading field inspection crews.
• Experience with NASSCO Standards and local standards for manholes, storm water sewers, sanitary sewers, water mains, etc.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret specifications.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
• Basic knowledge of web-based GIS and AutoCAD Civil3D is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work in diverse teams and promote safety, cost control and efficiency.
• Ability to balance multiple projects under tight deadlines.

• Provide oversight for construction supervision and contract administration.
• Lead safety and performance by enforcing standards and procedures.

• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors on engineering projects.
• Prepare quantities for bids and project documents.
• Perform field inspections of water, sewer, roads and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain construction observation plans and project records.
