Job summary

Coconino County in Flagstaff is seeking a seasoned finance professional to oversee governmental accounting, audits, and reporting. You will manage GAAP/GASB compliance, supervise staff, and coordinate the annual comprehensive financial report and SEFA.

Responsibilities include maintaining internal controls, closing processes, grant management, and responding to audit findings while guiding department staff and coordinating with the CFO to maintain fiscal integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; seven years in government finance or accounting.
• Four years of increasingly responsible accounting experience including one year of supervisory experience.
• Certified Public Accountant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, manages, and supervises professional staff to ensure GAAP and GASB compliance.
• Leads preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and related statements.
• Manages annual audits and coordinates with contracted support.
• Maintains general ledger, ledgers, closings, and financial reporting.
• Develops internal controls and monitors compliance with regulations.
